Customers have had good luck with using a wide clear
mailing tape to temporarily cover the areas of furniture
where their cats have been clawing.  Place the Scratch
Absorber
in an area that is still close to your cat’s favorite
scratching spot.  Play with your pet by moving ribbons and
toys across The Scratch Absorber™.  If your cat loves catnip,
spray it onto The Scratch Absorber™.  Placing a treat at the
top of The Scratch Absorber™ is also helpful in teaching your
pet.  Does your pet have an obsession with post-it notes?  Be
innovative in your training and be consistent with your
praise.  You and your cat will both be happy once it is
established that your cat has his or her very own piece of
furniture.   And please remember, that even though your cat
now has a new scratching toy, it is important that you
continue to trim their claws every few weeks as to prevent
snagging.

The Scratch Absorber™ now has an additional feature - a strap
for hanging purposes.  This will give our customers the option
of using the strap or the Velcro®.

NOTE:  The Scratch Absorber’s  Velcro® is uniform on all
models so that you can easily remount a new scratching post
in the same position without having to remove the old
adhesive.  The adhesive is removable but can sometimes
result in a slight peeling of paint.  Please use gentle force
only.
